This is an important aspect of the responsibilities of the church as an organisation that hosts vulnerable persons.
We affirm that children and young adults are the heritage of the Lord. The church is committed to nurturing, enhancing and respec tin g the dignity of all children in the care of the church or using our services. We acknowledge that children, young people, and vulnerable adult s can be the victims of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and neglect.

- Ensuring there are designated officers appointed and equipped to act as safeguarding leads for the church.
- Ensuring there is provision of adequate training and awareness at the various levels required to ensure the policy requirements are satisfied.
- Ensuring there us a functional system for enhanced DBS service for persons in positions where such is required.
- Ensuring there is an effective communication system to make relevant information about safeguarding readily available for all
The person in receipt of allegations or suspicions of abuse should report concerns as soon as possible to Safeguarding officer or the Deputy Safeguarding officer who have been nominated by the Leadership to act on their behalf in dealing with the allegation or suspicion of neglect or abuse, including referring the matter on to the statutory authorities.
